கண்ணோட்டம்

அழகிய காலி லைட்ஹவுஸ், தென்னை மரங்கள் மற்றும் அதற்கு அப்பால் இந்தியப் பெருங்கடலைக் கொண்ட கோட்டைச் சுவர்களால் கட்டமைக்கப்பட்ட கோட்டையின் உள்ளே மிகவும் புகைப்படம் எடுக்கப்பட்ட இடங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். A small beach and the Meeran Jumma Mosque sit just alongside, and the ramparts here are a favourite sunset gathering place. கோபுரம் பொதுமக்களுக்கு திறக்கப்படவில்லை, ஆனால் சுற்றுப்புறங்கள் இலவசமாக அனுபவிக்க முடியும்.

வரலாறு

A lighthouse has stood at Galle since 1848, making it Sri Lanka's oldest light station; the present 26.5 m tower was rebuilt in 1939 after the original was destroyed by fire, and it is operated by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
