汤田甘那瓦佛塔是 Wellawaya-Buttala 路上一座巨大、异常宽阔、低矮的砖砌舍利塔，其底座周围长 300 多米，是该岛南部最大的古代佛塔之一。其饱经风霜的圆顶仅部分修复，从宽阔的露台上拔地而起，最受赞赏的是其庞大的规模。附近的一座小佛像屋保存着古老的佛像和古代壁画的碎片，增添了这座长期受人尊敬的遗址的感觉。

历史

Tradition dates the origins of Yudaganawa to around the 2nd century BCE and links it in legend to battles fought by early Sinhalese royalty, with the name popularly connected to a great battlefield. The colossal stupa is thought to have been raised to enshrine relics and commemorate royal victories in the ancient kingdom of Ruhuna.
